The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house using a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
